COLOMBO (News 1e) - Sri Lanka plans to ease restrictions on all marriages between Sri Lankans and foreigners.

PSP Abeywardena, the country's chief registrar, noted that Circular No:-18/2021 on the registration of marriages between foreigners and Sri Lankans will be repealed.

According to this circular, a health certificate is required to confirm the health status of the foreigner concerned.

In addition, according to the circular, a security clearance report showing that the foreign national has not been convicted of a criminal offense is also required.
